Notes:
Some notes on other work of the cast and crew, with a particular emphasis on connections to other cult programmes:
Catherine Sanderson (Tess) appeared in the film version of Jonathan Harvey's Beautiful Thing.
Mary Wimbush (Esme Harkness) played Aunt Lavinia in the Doctor Who spin off K9 and Company. She also plays Julia Pargetter in long running Radio 4 soap The Archers.
Eileen Way (Alice Harkness) played reactionary cavewoman 'Old Mother' in the first ever Doctor Who story, and returned to play old-but-handy-with-a-dagger Karela in Doctor Who: The Creature from the Pit. She also appeared in the short lived but fondly remembered Sean's Show.
Simon Fenton (Ben Naismith) continues to appear on TV, and a had a role in recent BBC drama Hearts and Bones. You can read more about his other work in this profile from Independent Radio Drama Productions
Bernard Kay's (Richard Naismith) extensive TV work includes three appearances in Doctor Who (Saladin in 'The Crusaders', Inspector Crossland in 'The Faceless Ones' and Caldwell in 'Colony in Space')
Robert James (Josiah Naismith) cult TV appearances include The Avengers, Blake's 7, Doomwatch and Doctor Who (Lesterson in 'Power of the Daleks' and the High Priest in 'Masque of the Mandragora')
Beryl Cooke appeared as the Housekeeper in the Peter Cushing horror movie The Blood Beast Terror.
Danny Schiller (Jack Fretwell) played Little Norm in Alan Plater's rather wonderful Beiderbecke trilogy.
Composer David Ferguson (Dark Season and Century Falls) also wrote the score for another classic kid's drama, Moondial. You may like to visit his website and find out more about his work.
Director Colin Cant was responsible for a number of well loved children’s dramas, including Moondial, The Children of Green Knowe and Dark Season.
