Russell T Davies adapted his Dark Season scripts into a novel for BBC Books.

BlurbAn ordinary day at school takes a sinister turn when the mysterious Mr Eldritch promises a free home computer for every pupil - computers which conceal a terrible power... Only three teenagers, Marcie, Thomas and Reet, are alert to danger. Soon, they're caught in a conspiracy of brainwashing, kidnaps and a threat to the whole human race. Worse still, the school itself hides ancient secrets buried beneath its foundations, as the awesome Behemoth rises from its tomb, intent upon the destruction of all. Eldritch has summoned his Dark Season, which heralds the end of the world...
NB To the best of my knowledge, the novel is currently out of print. You may be able to track down a copy secondhand, though.
'But I'm telling you the plot...!'
Throughout the novel, Davies adds character and plot details that expand upon, and occasionally differ from, the transmitted version of Dark Season. A guide to some of these interesting variations will, one day, grace these very pages (i.e. as soon as I get a chance to compile said guide!). In the meantime, it's worth taking a look at the closing pages of the novel, which touch upon the aftermath of the Behemoth incident and point the way forward to further adventures for Marcie and friends. Sadly, as Davies recounts in the Q & A session on this site, another run of Dark Season was never produced, so we are left with a tantalising glimpse of what might have been:
Press interest in what happened at the school has been met with
'bland government excuses' about an old coal mine collapsing, and blame centres
on the Headmaster for allowing the dig.
Marcie, Reet and Thomas have taken to meeting in a cafe in town, where they
are occasionally joined by Miss Maitland, and succeed in annoying the disapproving
locals.
Meanwhile, we discover that a high street clothes shop has been taken over by
new owners (the previous occupants disappearing without trace), and an electronics
firm has been raided. Four months after the Behemoth, the store re-opens transformed
into the Valhalla amusement arcade:
'that morning, three children decided to skip school...
... but that's another story'.
